OLATHE, Kan. - After the most successful season in program history, MNU Women's Soccer head coach
Bryce McClanahan has resigned. In 6 seasons, McClanahan's teams have produced 34 All-Conference players, 2 NAIA All-America honorees, the program's first conference tournament championship (2024), three of the program's four trips to Nationals, and the program's first victory at Nationals (2024). He was named Conference Coach of the Year in 2022.
"I am thankful for the leadership Bryce has provided the women's soccer program over the past six seasons," said Director of Athletics
Todd Garrett. "As a former MNU student-athlete, assistant coach, and recent years as head coach, he has made a positive difference in the trajectory of the program. His attention to detail, relational centered coaching, and consistent high expectations produced recognizable success on and off the pitch for MNU Women's Soccer during his time leading the program. We wish Bryce and his family the best as he pursues other opportunities."
"After much thought, prayer, and conversations, I have decided to step down from my position as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at MNU, " said McClanahan. "These past six seasons have been an incredible journey. The highs and lows have challenged me to my core, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity Todd Garrett extended to me in 2019. Coaching here has been a worthy cause that my coaching staff, each team, and I have poured our blood, sweat, and tears into.
"From the beginning, I have believed that sports are one of the most powerful platforms to impact lives for a bigger purpose. My goal has always been to create a transformational experience where every individual knew they were loved, valued, and cared for. Through failures and persistence, we grew together. Over time, my focus has evolved into guiding people to find a way to make meaningful progress toward a noble goal—this, to me, is the true definition of success.
"I truly believe the best days for this program are ahead. This is a place where people grow in their faith, develop as strong servants, and excel both on and off the field. It has been an honor to serve as a coach here at MNU. Thank you to every single person who has contributed to growing this program. I am forever grateful for the memories we've made together."
MNU soccer alum and current Women's Soccer Assistant of 4 years, Coach Jose Ramos, will serve as interim head coach. The search for the next head coach begins immediately.
