Box Score 2 MNU split a non-conference double header at Ottawa on Tuesday. In Game 1, the Pioneers trailed 6-2 heading to the last inning.

Seth Lieser followed with a double.
Santiago Romero chased the Ottawa pitcher with a 2-run double, but the new arm walked
Colin Starr.
Tyler Meeks singled and
Trent Sullivan walked to cut the deficit to 1 and load the bases with no outs.
Jordan Eckley singled up the middle to tie the game, but a pop out and double play kept the score even. In the bottom of the eighth, Ottawa had 2 runners on with 2 outs when an MNU error brought home the winning run for the Braves. Eckley (1-3, R, RBI, BB, HBP),

In Game 2, the Pioneer offense jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning with RBIs from
Joe Smith and
Jordan Eckley. The Braves tied the game in the third, but they would not even reach base again as
Carlos Vargas struck out 10 in a 3-hit complete game victory. MNU put up 4 runs in the fourth highlighted by an Eckley 3-run triple and a Vargas sacrifice fly, and rallied for 4 more on 4 hits in the sixth to take a commanding lead. Vargas retired the final 13 batters in order, and MNU won 10-2. Vargas struck out 10 and walked 0, and
