Joe Smith followed with a double to the right-center gap which scored Brandt - who was stealing on the pitch - and tied the game.
Jordan Eckley ended the game with a rocket past a diving left fielder, and the Pioneers won 4-3.
Trent Hedlund went the distance for his 5th victory, and Brandt (0-1, R, 2 BB, HBP), Smith (1-3, R, 2B, RBI, HBP), Eckley (1-4, RBI), and
Carlos Vargas (1-1, 2 R, 2B, 2 BB) led the offense.
In Game 2, the Bobcats scored 1 in the first inning, but starter
Santiago Romero shut them down the rest of the way. MNU broke through in the bottom of the fifth when 3 walks and a hit batsman tied the game. An infield single and a wild pitch gave MNU 4 runs on 1 hit to take a 4-1 lead, and Romero struck out 9 through 6 innings.
Ethan Hargrave got the final 2 outs in the seventh, and MNU won 5-1 to complete the sweep. Romero allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 9 strikeouts, and
Trent Sullivan (3-3, R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, BB) led the offense.
