After winning two great games on Monday, the Pioneers were shut out by William Jewell in the championship round of the conference tournament on Tuesday. MNU was riding the momentum of the previous day's exciting wins, but Jewell's starting lefty Drew Mitrisin was dominant and the Pioneers hardly threatened. The Cardinals scored single runs in the second and fifth, then added 2 in the seventh an another in the eighth to take a 5-0 lead. MNU couldn't get anything going, and Mitrisin needed only 93 pitches to pick up the complete game shutout. Kyle Segraves (1-4), AJ Nunley (1-3, 2B), and Dave Staton (3-3) acounted for MNU's 5 hits.
The Pioneers finish the season with a 32-17 record, the most wins in school history.
