It took just 3 pitches for the Pioneers to find themselves trailing 3-0 on Tuesday, and MNU could not recover as they fell to Missouri Valley. A single on the first pitch, a bunt single on the second pitch, and a 3-run homer on the third pitch gave the Vikings a lead they would not relinquish. Dave Staton's mammoth 2-run homer in the bottom of the first inning cut the deficit to 4-2, but that was as close as the Pioneers got. After 3 innings it was 10-2 and MNU couldn't make a significant dent. Single runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh made the final score 10-5 as the Viking took the second game in a double header which was rained out from last week.

Tim Purdin (2-3, R, HR, 2 RBI, BB) led the offense.
The Pioneers are 12-14 (5-5 HAAC). The next game is a double header on Friday, April 2nd at Avila (19-8, 8-4) at 1 PM.
