OLATHE, Kan. – After four seasons as head coach of the MidAmerica Nazarene University men's and women's golf programs, Scott Seymour has resigned and accepted a position at another institution.
Seymour led both programs from their launch at MNU and quickly established the Pioneers among the premier golf programs in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Under his leadership, the MNU men's golf program captured back-to-back Heart Conference championships in 2024 and 2025. Seymour was also named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Golf Coach of the Year in three consecutive seasons from 2023 through 2025, reflecting the program's sustained excellence and growth during his tenure.
"On behalf of MidAmerica Nazarene University Athletics, I want to thank Coach Scott Seymour for his faithful leadership of our golf programs," said Director of Athletics Ryan Thompson. "Scott has represented MNU with integrity, professionalism and a genuine commitment to the development of our student-athletes both on and off the course. We are grateful for the relationships he has built and the impact he has made during his time leading our programs. We pray God will continue to bless Scott and his family as they begin the next chapter."
"After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to step down as head golf coach at MidAmerica Nazarene University," said Seymour. "Serving as the head coach of the Pioneer golf programs has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to invest in the lives of our student-athletes, build meaningful relationships and represent a university that is committed to developing students academically, athletically and spiritually.
"I want to express my sincere gratitude to the administration, athletic department, fellow coaches, alumni, supporters and everyone who has played a part in our programs' journey. Most importantly, I want to thank the student-athletes and their families for the trust they placed in me. Watching our players grow as golfers, students, leaders and followers of Christ has been the most rewarding part of this experience.
"I am proud of what we have accomplished together and grateful for the foundation that has been built. I have complete confidence that the programs will continue to move forward and achieve great success. A search for the next head coach of the MNU men's and women's golf programs will begin immediately.
