Pioneers Sweep on Senior Night

The Basics
Score: MNU 3 - Missouri Valley 0
Record: MNU (19-11, 10-6), MVC (1-30, 0-16)
Location: Bell Family Arena - Olathe, Kan.

OLATHE, Kan. - MNU swept Missouri Valley on Senior Night and honored newly-ducted Hall of Famer Megan Hayes on Friday. The Pioneers won the first 2 sets easily, 25-16 and 25-13, before taking a break to honor the career of Assistant Coach Hayes. Hayes was an integral part of the teams which turned the program into a national contender from 2009 to 2012. After the ceremony, the Pioneers battled through Set 3 and trailed 22-20 before going on a 5-1 run to close out the match. "Today made me so proud to be a Pioneer!" said Coach Karagyaurov. "It's been a heck of a day. Megan Hayes was inducted into the Hall of Fame, senior night for our three girls, and homecoming. First about the match, I was proud of our girls ability to control the game from beginning to end. We served well and all of our seniors played great. More importantly, we created a great environment at home in the Cook Center in front of a good crowd. That's so important for a program! Kayla, Katrina, and Magan will all be missed dearly. I'm so humbled I was able to play a small part of these women's volleyball careers. Secondly, having any volleyball athlete being inducted into the MNU Hall of Fame is huge. Having it be our assistant coach is beyond cool! Our team loves coach Megan. This was so special for everyone tonight. Lastly, we are looking forward to coffee, donuts, and some alumni volleyball tomorrow for homecoming. I can't help but feel so blessed to be apart of all of this. I love MNU."
