Box Score 2 Daria Sprew had career highs in 3 straight games as MNU left Atchison with a split in the Benedictine Tournament over the weekend. The junior post player recorded a career-high 19 points vs. Park on Tuesday, then matched that total in Friday's loss vs. Northwestern. On Saturday Sprew put up 23 in a blowout over Johnson & Wales to average 20.3 points this week.
On Friday, MNU played perennial NAIA Division 2 power Northwestern and fell 86-73. The first half was played tightly as neither team led by more than 6 and MNU took a 1-point lead into halftime. The first 10 minutes of the second half were dominated by Northwestern, as they outscored MNU 27-11 to take a 15-point lead. MNU fought back and used an 11-2 run to get within 4, but Northwestern answered right back with a 13-2 run to close the game and hand the Pioneers their first loss. Northwestern shot a blistering 59% for the game.

On Saturday, the Pioneers scored 100 points for the first time since December of last season in a 102-69 thumping of Johnson & Wales (CO). The game was tight early until MNU went on an 18-2 run to open take a 14-point lead into halftime. The Pioneers pushed the lead to 20 early in the second half and built it all the way to 34 with 5 minutes left before closing out the 33-point victory.
