OLATHE, Kan. - After 15 seasons as head coach of MidAmerica Nazarene Women's Basketball,
Jon Lewis has resigned and accepted a position at UMKC. Lewis led the Pioneers to 6 conference championships, 5 conference tournament titles, 14 National Tournament appearances, 7 Round of 16s, 2 Round of 8s, 1 Fab Four, and the 2016 National Championship. He compiled a record of 362-111 (77%) overall, a 259-55 (82%) conference record, and is the program's all time wins leader. He was named Conference Coach of the Year 5 times, and was the 2016 NAIA National Coach of the Year. He coached 17 All-America honorees and numerous All-Conference selections.
"Coach Lewis has been a cornerstone of our athletics department for the past 15 years," said Director of Athletics Ryan Thompson. "His leadership, consistency, and commitment to excellence have elevated our women's basketball program and positively impacted countless student-athletes. We are incredibly grateful for his contributions and wish him nothing but success in the next chapter of his coaching career."
