The Pioneers solidified their place in the top half of the conference with a double header sweep of Missouri Valley on Saturday.
Box and Play by Play In Game 1, the Pioneers put up a run when
Jen Polivka led off with a walk and scored 2 outs later when
Jessica Scarlett drove a double deep left-center. Valley took the lead in the fifth on a 2-run homer, but the Pioneers took control in the sixth.
Cait Gardner led off with a single and
Adriana Asano followed with a walk. After a runner was erased on a steal attempt, Scarlett again doubled to tie the game.
Morgan Burton and
Janessa Swinney added RBIs to give MNU a 4-2 lead, and
Kayla Harris made it stand up for her 13th victory of the season.

Annie Duffner (1-1, 2B, 2 BB) led the offense.

Gale Christner scattered 5 hits in 4 innings for her first victory of the season, and
Kayla Harris threw 3 no-hit innings for the save in a 1-0 victory for the Pioneers. The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the fourth when
Cait Gardner doubled with 1 out and was at 3rd with 2 outs.
Jadalynn Cirillo's RBI single was the difference in the game as MNU completed the sweep. Cirillo (2-3, RBI) was the offense for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers are 16-12 (8-6 HAAC). The next game is a double header on Tuesday at Graceland (18-13, 9-1) at 3:00.
