OLATHE, Kan. – The Pioneers dropped Game 1 but salvaged a split in Game 2 vs. Park on Tuesday. In Game 1, MNU found itself playing from behind early after Park struck for 2 runs in the 1st inning and added on in the 3rd and 4th to build a 4-0 lead.
The Pioneers responded in the 4th inning when Brie Manwarren launched a 2-run home run to left field, scoring Aariana Paprocki and cutting the deficit to 4-2.
However, Park answered late with a 2-run homer in the 7th to extend the lead to 6-2. MNU attempted a rally in the bottom half, as Senne Imel delivered an RBI single to make it 6-3, but the comeback fell short.

Park's 2-run homer in the 7th inning halted MNU's momentum and sealed the outcome.

Dakoda Hobbs (1-3, R, BB), Lailah Simmons (3-4), Aariana Paprocki (2-4, R), Andi Clements (2-4), and Brie Manwarren (1-3, R, HR, 3 RBI) led the offense.
In Game 2, MNU wasted little time generating offense, breaking through in the 2nd inning when Dakoda Hobbs ripped a 2-out 2-run double down the left-field line to score Senne Imel and Andi Clements for a 2-0 lead.
The Pioneers kept the pressure on in the 3rd inning, capitalizing on a Park error before RBI singles from Imel and Clements extended the lead to 4-0.
MNU added another insurance run in the 5th on a sacrifice fly from Danica Hobbs, pushing the advantage to 5-0.
In the circle, Brie Manwarren delivered a dominant complete-game performance, allowing just two runs (one earned) while striking out 5 and not issuing a walk across 7Â innings. The Pioneers tallied 12 hits in the win, highlighted by multi-hit efforts from Molly Nicas, Imel, Clements, and Dakoda Hobbs.
