Kayla Harris won her 4th game in 2 days as MNU came back to win both games in a double header vs. Avila on Saturday.
Box and Play by Play In Game 1, neither team scored until Avila pushed across a run on 3 hits in the fourth inning. An Avila squeeze bunt scored another in the 5th, but MNU cut the deficit in half with a
Morgan Burton sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning. The Pioneers broke it open in the bottom of the 6th.
Lynsey Keith led off with a walk, and one out later
Cait Gardner singled.
Brittany Williams followed with a double to tie the game, and a wild pitch gave MNU the lead. The Pioneers extended the lead with 3 more runs on 3 more hits, and Avila went 3-up 3-down in the 7th to give MNU the 6-2 victory.
Kayla Harris got the win with 3.1 innings of relief. And

Box and Play by Play In Game 2, Avila rallied for 4 runs in the top of the first, but MNU got right back in the game with a 3-run second inning.
Brittany Williams led with a double off the wall and
Adriana Asano followed with a carbon copy double. A bunt base hit from
Jessica Scarlett scored a run, and RBI singles from
Annie Duffner and
Janessa Swinney made the score 4-3. MNU tied the game in the fourth on a Duffner sacrifice fly, but Avila rallied for 2 runs on 4 hits in the top of the fifth to retake the lead. A wild pitch from Avila gave MNU a run in the bottom of the fifth, but the Pioneers still found themselves trailing by 1 in the seventh. With 2 outs and nobody on,
Cait Gardner walked and
Brittany Williams singled. Wild pitches bit Avila yet again as the runners moved up on one and scored to tie the game on another. Avila hitters were retired in order in the top of the eighth, and
Annie Duffner reached on a walk ahead of a
Janessa Swinney single with one out in the bottom of the inning. The wild pitch again helped out the Pioneers as one pitch went to the backstop to move up the runners, and another bounced off the catcher to bring home another run and a walk-off 7-6 victory.
Harris threw 7.1 innings of relief for her 4th victory of the weekend. And
