Rachel Boan's 3-pointer as the clock was winding down sent the game into overtime, but the Pioneers fell at the hands of William Jewell 67-64. The first half was tight throughout, as MNU's 7-2 lead was the biggest of the period. There were 8 ties as the Pioneers took a 1-point lead to the locker room.
In the opening minutes of the second half, MNU took a 6-point lead. But a mini-run by the Cardinals tied the score. The Pioneers answered with a 10-2 run to seemingly take control of the game with 10 minutes remaining. With 5 minutes left, the Cardinals started a 15-4 run which provided a 3-point lead with under 10 seconds remaining. Rachel Boan at the 3-point line. Boan burried the shot and sent the game into over time.
Neither team took more than a 3-point lead in the extra session, but the Cardinals made big free throws late in the game and won 67-64.
Kassidy Ritchel led the offense with 14 points. She also had 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Sophia Stockton had 13 points and 6 rebounds.
