The Pioneers played a great first half vs. #22-ranked William Jewell on Saturday, but faded in the second half and lost 86-81. MNU took a 37-32 lead at halftime, but Jewell exploded to start the second half and built a 13-point lead with 4 minutes remaining. The Pioneers fought back with a 14-4 run to get within 3 points, but Jewell held the lead with 16 straight free throws to close the game and win by 5.
Rustin Dowd led all scorers with 29 points and 3 assists. Barry Robinson had 12 points. Marcus Butler had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. And Andrew Crotty had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.
The Pioneers are 6-7 (1-2 HAAC). The next game is Thursday, December 30 at Arkansas Tech.
