FAYETTE, Mo. – MNU took a late lead on Emily Rawlins' first goal of the season, but Central Methodist answered less than nine minutes later as the Pioneers battled to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night in Fayette.

The Pioneers created several early chances in a scoreless first half. Maria Stumpf put shots on goal in the sixth and eighth minutes, and Maddie Lalman forced another save in the 17th. Tindra Jarl also had an attempt blocked as MNU put three of its first four shots on frame.

MNU's defense was equally solid through the opening 45 minutes. Fiona Popetschnig made saves in the seventh and 44th minutes, and the Pioneers went to halftime tied 0-0.

The Pioneers became more dangerous after halftime and generated five corner kicks in the second half. Stumpf had a shot go wide in the 48th minute, Megan Watson narrowly missed on a header in the 56th, and Jarl had an attempt blocked two minutes later.

MNU finally broke through in the 74th minute. Luna Etienne delivered a corner, and Emily Rawlins converted at 73:17 for her first goal of the season, giving the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.

Central Methodist, however, found the equalizer at 81:50.

MNU earned one final corner with 1:12 remaining but could not produce the game-winner. The Pioneers finished with 11 shots, including four on goal, while Central Methodist had 12 shots with four on frame. MNU held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks, with all five coming in the second half.
