OLATHE, Kan. – MNU split its home doubleheader against Culver-Stockton on Monday, riding an explosive offensive performance to a Game 1 win before being shut out in the nightcap.
In Game 1, MNU wasted no time setting the tone, plating 3 runs in the 1st inning and adding 2Â more in the 2nd to seize early control. The Pioneers continued to apply pressure with multi-run frames in the 4th and 6th, finishing with 10 runs on 17 hits in a commanding victory.
Lailah Simmons, Brie Manwarren, Molly Nicas, and Danica Hobbs all recorded multi-hit performances as MNU's lineup produced runs in 4 different innings.
In the circle, Mandy Brown set the tone early with three scoreless innings and five strikeouts, while Grace Berlage earned the win in relief.
