OLATHE, Kan. – MNU couldn't hold off a second-half rally from William Penn, falling 73–70 in a tightly contested Heart matchup on Wednesday night.
The Pioneers led by as many as 14 and carried a 36–30 advantage into halftime, but William Penn shot nearly 49 percent in the second half to complete the comeback. MNU had a chance to tie in the final seconds but came up empty.
Malachi Bryant had a standout night, scoring 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting with 4 threes and 7 rebounds. Landon Wagler added 12 points, all from beyond the arc, and Caden Kaberline chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.
