The Pioneers improved to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in league play, riding a balanced offensive attack and steady back-row defense that kept the Ravens from ever finding their rhythm.
MNU hit .202 as a team while holding Benedictine to just .087. The Pioneers collected 43 kills to the Ravens' 29 and won the digging battle 59–56. The serving game was also key—MNU tallied seven aces to Benedictine's zero, with junior setter Callie Winebarger leading the way with four.
