OLATHE, Kan. – MNU continued its strong conference play on Tuesday night, sweeping Missouri Valley 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 at the Cook Center. The Pioneers improved to 7-1 in the Heart of America with a balanced offensive attack led by Avery Lowe and a defense that came up big in key moments.
MNU hit .179 as a team and out-killed Missouri Valley 45-20, while the defense tallied 54 digs and 13 team blocks. After cruising through the first two sets, the Pioneers fought off a late Viking surge in the third to seal the sweep.
Turning Point
The second set proved pivotal. Down 11-3 early, the Pioneers regrouped after a timeout and stormed back behind strong swings from Mia Olson and Avery Lowe. A 16-5 run flipped the momentum, capped by a service ace from Alex Thomas to close the set 25-20.
