OLATHE, Kan. – MNU made quick work of Graceland on Saturday morning, sweeping the Yellowjackets 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 at the Cook Center. The Pioneers improved to 6-1 in Heart of America play with a balanced offensive attack and a dominant defensive effort.
MNU hit .214 as a team while holding Graceland to just .063, using steady runs in each set to pull away. Maddie Schmidt (.462) and Isabella Munari (.417) led the charge offensively, while the Pioneer defense tallied 43 digs and 8 team blocks to limit the Yellowjackets' scoring chances.
Turning Point
Late in the first set, MNU used a 9-3 surge fueled by kills from Avery Lowe and Mia Olson, plus back-to-back aces from Dominika Bartosz, to break a 10-10 tie and take control of the match.
