OLATHE, Kan. – #8 MNU kept its unbeaten start alive Saturday with a decisive 2-0 victory over #17 Mid-America Christian at CBAC. The Pioneers controlled the pace throughout, outshooting the Evangels 17-8 and riding timely goals from Vladimir Buljan and Elyes Ellouz to secure the Top-25 win.
After a tightly contested opening half-hour, MNU broke through in the 35th minute. Vladimir Buljan rose to the occasion just minutes after entering the game, burying a header off a cross from defender Gabriel Fernandes to put the Pioneers in front 1-0.
The second half saw MNU continue to press, and the breakthrough came again. In the 60th minute, Elyes Ellouz doubled the lead, finishing calmly off a clever feed from senior Antonio Mugica. From there, the Pioneers tightened defensively, with goalkeeper Tobias Stirl making four saves to preserve his third clean sheet of the season.
