OLATHE, Kan. – No. 8 MidAmerica Nazarene dominated from start to finish on Thursday, rolling past #25 Williams Baptist 5-0 at the Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex. The Pioneers outshot the Eagles 20-2 and poured in goals from five different players to remain unbeaten on the young season.
Senior forward Antonio Mugica set the tone early, breaking through in the 11th minute for his second goal of the year. He then turned provider before halftime, assisting Vladimir Buljan's 42nd-minute strike to give MNU a 2-0 lead at the break.
The Pioneers came out strong again in the second half. Gil Brown tallied in the 52nd minute on a feed from Elyes Ellouz, while Bernardo Dickmann and Noa Perez added late goals in the 81st and 86th minutes, respectively, to put the match out of reach.
MNU's back line, anchored by keeper Tobias Stirl, kept Williams Baptist in check throughout. Stirl did not face a single shot on goal as the Eagles managed just two total shots, while WBU keeper Marco Cisneros was under constant pressure, recording nine saves.
Turning Point
Mugica's opener in the 11th minute gave the Pioneers early control, and Buljan's strike just before halftime effectively sealed momentum in MNU's favor.
