BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – MNU split a conference doubleheader on the road at Baker Monday, falling 2-0 in a tightly contested opener before bouncing back with a dominant 6-0 shutout win in Game 2.

In
Game 1, the Pioneers were stymied by the Baker starter, who scattered four hits and struck out seven in a complete-game shutout. Despite opportunities, MNU left seven runners on base and couldn't break through.
Mandy Brown took the loss for MNU despite allowing just four hits and two earned runs over six innings while matching Baker's strikeout total.

Baker's single run in the bottom of the 2nd was enough.

Game 2 was a completely different story, as MNU's offense exploded late, and
Grace Berlage turned in a gem in the circle. The Pioneers scored five runs in the final two innings to break open a 1-0 game.
Danica Hobbs led the offensive charge with two hits, two runs, and an RBI, while
Kelly Stoakes delivered a clutch two-run double in the 7th to give MNU breathing room.
