Pioneers Swept by Grand View

OLATHE, Kan. – MNU dropped both ends of a conference doubleheader to Grand View on Thursday. The Pioneers struggled to generate offense in either game, tallying just one run across 14 innings while stranding 15 total baserunners.

In Game 1, MNU didn't reach base until a Dakoda Hobbs double with 2 outs in the 5th. Grand View built a 3-0 lead in the 6th, and Robin Todd's solo homer in the bottom of the inning was MNU's only run.

Game 1 Turning Point
A two-run 6th inning for Grand View stretched the Vikings' lead to 3-0.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Mandy Brown struck out 8 in a complete game loss. And Alli VanLanker (1-3), Dakoda Hobbs (1-3, 2B), and Robin Todd (1-2, R, HR, RBI) had MNU's 3 hits.

In Game 2, Grand View again jumped out early, scoring single runs in each of the first four innings. The Pioneers couldn't push any runs across and fell 4-0.

Brie Manwarren struck out 6 in a complete game loss. And Manwarren (1-2, 2B, BB) and Robin Todd (2-3, 2B) each recorded a double.
