OLATHE, Kan. – MNU swept a double header from Peru State on Saturday. With strong winds blowing straight in, both teams struggled to find offense. In the third inning of
Game 1, MNU struck first when Abigail Clements drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home
Danica Hobbs. Peru State responded in the fifth, tying the game on an RBI double. The score held at 1-1 until the ninth when MNU manufactured the winning run.
Danica Hobbs singled, moved up on a
Kelly Stoakes bunt single, got to third on an
Abby Schulte sacrifice, and came home on a squeez from
Aliyah Robinson, sealing the walk-off win.
Mandy Brown was dominant in the circle, striking out 15 in a complete-game gem.
