FAYETTE, Mo. – MNU struggled to contain #6 Central Methodist's offense in a two-game series on Saturday, dropping Game 1 by a score of 10-2 and Game 2 by a final of 12-6.

In Game 1, the Pioneers got on the board first with a two-run double by Abby Schulte in the second inning, but Central Methodist responded with a powerful offensive display. The Eagles launched 6 home runs in 2 innings to pull away and secure the win via the mercy rule.

Game 1 Turning Point
CMU's 2 home runs in the 4th inning turned a deficit into a lead.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Abby Schulte (2-2, 2 2B, 2 RBI) drove in both runs.

In Game 2, MNU trailed huge early and were in danger of another mercy rule loss, but a grand slam from Abby Schulte with 2 outs in the fifth inning extended the game. Each team scored 1 in the 6th, but MNU could not get any closer and fell 12-6.

Game 2 Turning Point
Central Methodist's seven-run first inning proved too much to overcome.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Mandy Brown struck out 5 in 4.2 innings of solid relief. And Kelly Stoakes (2-3, 2 R, HR, RBI), Alli VanLanker (2-3, R, BB), and Abby Schulte (1-4, R, HR, 4 RBI) led the offense.
