OMAHA, Neb. – MNU split a doubleheader against Bellevue on Friday, dropping a tight 2-1 contest in extra innings before bouncing back with a 4-1 victory in the second game.
In Game 1, the Pioneers took an early lead in the third inning when Kelly Stoakes drove in Robin Todd with a single to right. Bellevue answered in the sixth with an RBI single to tie the game. In the eighth, the Bruins pushed across the winning run with a bunt single, sealing the 2-1 defeat for MNU.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Brie Manwarren pitched 7.1 innings, allowing just one earned run with four strikeouts. Danica Hobbs (3-4, SB) led MNU with three hits.
In Game 2, MNU found its offensive rhythm late. After tying the game at 1 in the fourth inning on a wild pitch, the Pioneers exploded for three runs in the seventh. MNU loaded the bases, and with 2 outs, Dakoda Hobbs delivered an RBI single to give MNU the lead. Mandy Brown was dominant in the circle, striking out eight in a complete-game effort.
