OLATHE, Kan. – The MNU Pioneers secured a thrilling 76-74 victory over Graceland on Saturday afternoon, holding off a late charge to finish the regular season as the 4-seed in the conference tournament. MNU led 40-34 at halftime and built a double-digit lead early in the second half, but Graceland fought back. Trailing by 10 with 8 minutes left, GU went on a 17-6 run to take a 1-point lead. In the final minutes, Shane Stevenson put MNU up by 2, but Graceland responded with a 3 to take the lead. With 30 seconds left and the shot clock down to 1, Gary Clay drilled a 3-pointer to put the Pioneers up by 2. The defense held firm, and MNU escaped with the win.
