OLATHE, Kan. – MNU took control in the second half and pulled away for a convincing 75-64 win over Park in the Conference Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday night. MNU led 37-34 at halftime and used a balanced scoring attack and strong defense down the stretch to secure the victory.
After a competitive first half, MNU opened the second half on a 10-4 run, fueled by a three-pointer from
Gary Clay and key baskets from
Shane Stevensen. Park hung around, cutting the lead to three with just under 10 minutes remaining, but the Pioneers responded with a 10-2 surge behind big plays from
Gerard Bosch and
Malachi Bryant. The defense tightened in the final five minutes, forcing turnovers and limiting Park to just 30 second-half points as MNU sealed the win.
Turning Point
A three-pointer from
Brooks Langrehr with 5:41 left put MNU up by six, shifting momentum in the Pioneers' favor as they never looked back.
