OLATHE, Kan. – MNU put up 88 points and shot over 52 percent from the field, but it wasn't enough to slow down a red-hot Concordia (Neb.) squad that poured in 101 points in a wire-to-wire win Thursday evening. The Bulldogs shot a blistering 63.2% from the field to hand the Pioneers a home defeat.
Malachi Bryant turned in a team-high 24 point performance while adding 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals in 35 minutes. Uriah Boutte followed closely with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting and knocked down 3 triples.
Despite trailing by 15 at the half, the Pioneers battled back to cut the deficit to single digits in the second half. But Concordia continued to answer every MNU run.
MNU got a strong bench boost with 27 points from reserves, while the Pioneers held a 14–8 edge in second-chance points and had more fast-break points. However, a 20–6 free throw disparity and a sizzling Concordia offense proved too much to overcome.
Turning Point
Concordia's 13–2 opening run set the tone early, and MNU never led in the game.
