OLATHE, Kan. – #2 MNU rallied from an early deficit to edge Missouri Valley 2-1 Tuesday afternoon at Pioneer Field, advancing to the Heart Tournament Semifinals.
After Missouri Valley struck first in the 12th minute, the Pioneers responded with two first-half goals to seize control. Jaxon Slaven leveled the match in the 23rd minute off an assist from Elyes Ellouz, and Antonio Mugica netted what proved to be the winner eight minutes later, finishing a setup from David Stoklasek.
The second half saw MNU dominate possession and pressure, outshooting the Vikings 9–5 after the break, but the scoreline held. Tobias Stirl turned away four shots to preserve the win, while the Pioneers earned six corner kicks to Missouri Valley's three.
