OLATHE, Kan. – #22 MNU closed the regular season on Saturday with a 2-0 shutout over Missouri Baptist.
The Pioneers dominated from start to finish, outshooting the Spartans 30-1 and holding a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Lieve Mol broke through in the 16th minute, finishing off a setup from goalkeeper Fiona Popetschnig to put MNU in front early. Thayline Teixeira doubled the lead just after halftime, slotting home a pass from Luna Etienne in the 50th minute to seal the result.
Popetschnig needed to make only one save to secure her fifth shutout of the season. Missouri Baptist goalkeeper Jordyn Maryas was tested all afternoon, stopping 11 shots to keep the score respectable.
