OLATHE, Kan. – 3-seed MNU advanced to the conference tournament semifinals with a 2-1 victory over 6-seed Clarke on Wednesday afternoon at Pioneer Field.
The Pioneers controlled much of the first half, outshooting Clarke 6-3 and earning a slim lead. Achaia Day opened the scoring in the 19th minute, heading home her second goal of the season to give MNU an early lead. The second half was charactized by constant Clarke pressure, and the Pride managed to equalize midway through the period. But the Pioneers answered in the 81st minute when Bella Leon netted the game-winner after a blocked shot from Thayline Teixeira, sealing MNU's spot in the next round.
Goalkeeper Fiona Popetschnig was often tested, but faced only 2 shots on goal. Clarke's keeper, Abigail Turley, was far busier—making six saves to keep her side in contention.

Leon's 80th-minute finish restored MNU's advantage and secured the postseason victory.
