OLATHE, Kan. – #22 MNU continued its hot streak with a 3–1 win over Clarke on Saturday, overcoming an early own goal to secure its sixth conference victory. The Pioneers controlled play throughout, outshooting Clarke 20–3 and forcing 10 saves from the Pride goalkeeper.
Clarke took an early lead in the third minute on an own goal, but MNU answered immediately as Luna Etienne finished a pass from Tindra Jarl less than 30 seconds later. The pair flipped roles seven minutes later, with Jarl scoring from Etienne to give the Pioneers a 2–1 edge. Thayline Teixeira sealed the result in the 76th minute with a solo effort, her sixth goal of the season.
Goalkeeper Fiona Popetschnig made one save while MNU's back line held Clarke to just two shots on goal.
Turning Point
The quick equalizer by Luna Etienne in the 4th minute erased Clarke's brief lead and swung momentum firmly to MNU.
