-Â The #23-ranked Pioneers opened the season with a 69-7 blowout at Culver-Stockton on Saturday. Quarterback
Adrian Parsons broke the career touchdown passes record and extended his career passing yards record with a huge first half. He went 13-15 for 249 yards and 5 touchdowns to break MNU Hall of Famer Matt Schneider's career mark of 52. MNU possessed the ball 11 times, and only a kneel-down in the final minute prevented a touchdown on every possession in a game which was never really in doubt.
Leading 35-7, Jonathan Brown recorded a pick-6, and
Kidd Dickerson did the same to push the lead to 55-7. MNU took their foot off the gas in the 4th quarter, but
Devin Andrews rushed for the final touchdown late in the game.
"I'm really proud of how we came out and played against Culver-Stockton," said head coach
Paul Hansen. "All three units played complementary football. I'm also very proud of
Adrian Parsons on becoming MNU's all-time passer and touchdown leader. We are excited to have our home opener next week and can't wait to see all of our fans."
Turning Point
MNU's 2 touchdowns in the 1st quarter was all they needed.
