The Basics

Record: MNU (2-0), PSC (2-1)
Location: CBAC | Olathe, Kan.

OLATHE, Kan. - The #20-ranked Pioneers blew out Peru State in the home opener on Saturday. MNU scored early and often, as Adrian Parsons threw for 5 touchdowns and Shawn Cherry ran for 2 more to take a 50-0 lead into halftime (a missed PAT and a safety accounted for the unusual point total). Receiver Aiyo'n Carter had a huge half as well, hauling in 3 catches for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. Zach Martinez and Ethan Pritchard recorded interceptions, and the game was never in doubt. MNU shut it down in the second half, and the final was 53-6.

"From the beginning of the game our guys came out focused and played really well," said head coach Paul Hansen. "I'm  proud of our defense for holding one of the top passing teams in our conference to only 62 yards. Also, I would like to thank all of the fans that came out to the game. That was one of the biggest crowds I've seen since arriving at MNU. We will need everyone this week as we have a really good Graceland team coming to town."

Turning Point
MNU's 1st quarter put the game away early.
