ATCHISON, Kan. – MNU fell to conference rival Benedictine in four sets on Saturday morning. The Pioneers dropped the first set 25-18 but rallied to win the second set 25-15. However, they couldn't sustain the momentum, falling 25-23 in a tightly contested third set and 25-16 in the fourth, sealing the loss.
Despite the defeat, MNU had standout performances from Avery Lowe, who tallied 13 kills, and Emily Mathis, who had 28 digs and 3 service aces. Katrina Davis dished out 35 assists, but the Pioneers' .132 hitting percentage as a team was not enough to overcome Benedictine's efficient attack.

The match turned in the third set. After splitting the first two, MNU battled hard, but Benedictine pulled away late to take the third set 25-23. That set shifted momentum back to Benedictine, who closed out the match in the fourth set.
