OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers used a big Game 2 comeback to complete a sweep of Culver-Stockton on Friday. In
Game 1, MNUÂ scored single runs in the 1st and 2nd with RBIs from
Kelly Stoakes and Madeline Brooks. Culver got 1 back in the top of the 3rd, but RBIs from Stoakes and
Abby Schulte made it 4-1 in the bottom of the inning. The Wildcats scored again in the 4th, but a
Nyah Brown RBI single made it 6-2 in the 6th.

MNU's 2-run 3rd made it 4-1.
Game 1 Individual Leaders
Mandy Brown struck out 2 in 4 innings for the win.
Hannah Etzel struck out 2 in 3 innings for the save. And
Cordelia Hanger (3-4, 2 R, 2B),
Dez Duncan (2-3, Sac),
Nyah Brown (2-4, R, RBI),
Kelly Stoakes (1-4, R, 2B, 2 RBI),

In
Game 2, Culver took advantage of a couple defensive miscues and scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st. The MNU offense couldn't get anything going in the first 4 innings, and the Wildcats rallied for 2 more in the 5th for a 5-0 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, MNU starting the comeback. With 2 outs and 1 on, a single and an error loaded the bases, and
Emma Jones brought home 3 with a double.
Abby Schulte followed with a double, and MNU trailed 5-4. In the bottom of the 6th, a walk and 2 singles loaded the bases with no outs.
Nyah Brown drove in 2 run a single, and
Kelly Stoakes followed with an RBI single for a 7-5 lead.
Alli VanLanker made it 8-5 with a double, and a sacrifice fly from
Abby Schulte and 2-out RBI single from
Robin Todd made it 10-5. Culver went quietly in the 7th, and the Pioneers completed the sweep.

Emma Jones' 2-out 3-run double got MNU back in the game.

Graci Buckly struck out 6 and allowed just 1 earned run in a no-decision.
