Hanger Breaks Runs Record in Sweep of Bellevue

OLATHE, Kan. - Senior Cordelia Hanger broke her 3rd career record, with her 143rd run scored in Game 2, in a double header sweep of Bellevue on Wednesday. In Game 1, MNU scored in the top of the 1st on a 2-out RBI single from Alli VanLanker, and starting pitching Mykala Johnico dominated the Bruins. Nyah Brown doubled home Hanger in the 3rd, and the 2-0 lead stood as Johnico struck out 13 in a 2-hit complete game shutout.

VanLanker's 1st inning RBI was all MNU needed.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Mykala Johnico struck out 13 in a 2-hit complete game shutout. And Cordelia Hanger (2-3, R, SB), Nyah Brown (2-3, 2B, RBI), and Alli VanLanker (2-3, RBI) led the offense.

In Game 2, MNU scored 1 in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd, and pitchers Grace Berlage and Johnico held the Bruins to 1 run to complete the sweep. In the bottom of the 5th, a Dez Duncan 2-run double brought home Cordelia Hanger for the 143rd time in her career, breaking the all-time Runs record (KK Bayless '19-'23). She also holds the career Stolen Base and Hits records.
