OLATHE, Kan. – In a tightly contested match, the Pioneers fell 2-1 to Baker University, bringing their season to a close. The defending national champions pushed hard but couldn't overcome Baker's second-half go-ahead goal, ending MNU's run with a record of 9-5-4. Baker's took an early lead in the 14th minute, but MNU quickly responded when Antonio Mugica found the net just over a minute later on a free kick, leveling the game at 1.
However, the decisive moment came in the 63rd minute when Baker scored, and MNU couldn't counter despite several close chances in the final minutes.
