OLATHE, Kan. – MNU's offense broke through with a dominant 6-1 performance over Huntington in the 2nd round of Nationals on Saturday. MNU set the tone early, scoring twice in the first half, and added four more goals in the second to seal the win.
Antonio Mugica opened the scoring in the 21st minute off an assist from Enzo Cozzi. Just before halftime, Rick Hovinga extended the lead, converting a pass from Tom Chartier. The Pioneers continued their assault in the second half with Tinashe Simbo, Elyes Ellouz, Thomas Giraudo, and Paul Heel finding the back of the net.
Turning Point
MNU's relentless attack early in the second half, punctuated by Tinashe Simbo's goal just 81 seconds into the period, eliminated any hopes of a Huntington comeback.
