OLATHE, Kan. – MNU won their 8th straight game with a 73-70 comeback victory over Clarke on Saturday. The Pride got off to a huge start, draining several threes to build an 11-point lead late in the 1st half. But the Pioneers scored the last 4 points to head to the locker room trailing by only 7. Clarke started the 2nd half hot as well, and regained their 11-point lead early in the period. A 9-0 run by the Pioneers closed the gap to 2, and the game remained close for the next several minutes. MNU finally took the lead with an
Ed Wright fastbreak layup, and the lead changed hands 6 times over the next 6 minutes until the Pioneers finally got a stop with 30 seconds left.
Brooks Langrehr hit 2 clutch free throws to take a 3-point lead, and
Anthony Brown did the same on the next possession. Clarke's final desperation three-point fell short at the buzzer, and MNU won by 3.
