After weeks of hard training, MNU cross country teams competed at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri on September 29.

The women's team conquered their first 6k race of the season. Junior
Abigail Allred led the team with a time of 26:23. Seniors
Abigail Zitter and
Justine Wheeler followed close behind with times of 26:31 and 26:42, respectively. Sophomores
Sage Adam and
Olivia Siefker rounded out the scoring positions with times of 28:38 and 28:46, respectively. Sophomores
Gracie Enochs and
Leah Taylor finished the race in 29:15 and 31:29, respectively.

The men's team raced another 8k with senior
Riley Glassbrenner leading the squad. He finished with a time of 27:26. Freshman
Ray Kosgei was the second runner for MNU, completing the race with a time of 28:06. Freshman
Ken Morgan made his debut with MNU, coming across the finish line in a time of 29:48.
Paul Heddings and
Bramwel Kosgei were the fourth and fifth runners for MNU, finishing in 31:17 and 32:29, respectively. Also competing for the Pioneers was
Patrick Jacobs,
Jackson Elsey,
Colin Baker, and
Drew Bond.

The athletes will look ahead to competing at Emporia State University on the evening of Friday, October 6. The women's race will be a 5k, followed by the men's 8k race.
