MNU Cross Country was back on the course at Emporia State University on October 6. The women's team found their momentum in the 5k race. Junior
Abigail Allred was the first runner for MNU, finishing the race in 19:27. Her time marks her lifetime best and earned her 15th place. Seniors
Justine Wheeler and Abby Zitter fought their way to their season's best times of 20:10 and 20:20, respectively. Wheeler placed 21st overall, with Zitter finishing in 25th. Sophomore
Sage Adam ran her lifetime best as well, running 20:36. Sophomores
Gracie Enochs and
Olivia Siefker also competed for the Pioneers.

With back-to-back weeks of competing, the men trained through another 8k. Freshman
Ray Kosgei led the MNU men with his time of 28:13. Junior
James Mwihaki finished on the heels of his teammate with his time of 28:16. Sophomore
Patrick Jacobs,
Paul Heddings, and
Ken Morgan rounded out the top 5 scoring positions for MNU.

"The women raced really well and moved along as a pack, and earned 2 lifetime personal bests," said head coach
Jared Seckel. "The men tackled their third 8k of the season. I think they felt a little tired, but I'm confident they will reap the benefits of their training soon and will be ready to go in November."

As the end of the regular season is approaching, MNU cross country plans to race at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas on the evening of Friday, October 20
