OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers won 3 of 4 from Park over the weekend. In Game 1, Park jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st, and the Pioneers went the first 3 innings without a base runner. In the bottom of the 4th, Drew Woodley walked and Brycen Sherwood doubled to start the inning. A passed ball got MNU on the board, and a Dionathan Cornet 2-run homer tied it with 2 outs. Another run scored before the inning ended, and MNU led 4-3. A Javier Melendez 2-out RBI single put MNU up 5-3 in the 5th, and starter Zach Trevino closed it out for the win.

Zach Trevino struck out 4 in a complete game victory. And Javier Melendez (1-3, RBI) and Dionathan Cornet (1-3, R, HR, 2 RBI) drove in runs for MNU.

In Game 2, the Pioneers scored in every inning and blew out the Pirates 16-3.

In Game 3, Park blew the game open with 6 runs in the 3rd inning, and the Pioneers couldn't come back in a 9-4 loss.

In Game 4, Park rallied for 4 runs in the top of the 3rd and threatened to pull away, but reliever Kristian Hurtado stopped the bleeding and allowed the Pioneers to come back. With 1 out, Brycen Sherwood walked and Javier Melendez homered to get MNU back in the game. Noah Castillo doubled, and Sean Maple doubled him home to get the Pioneers within 1. Joey Calamaio's 2-run homer capped a 7-run inning, and MNU led 8-5. Park punched right back with 3 runs in the 4th to tie it, but a Noah Castillo 2-run homer put MNU up for good. Neither team scored again, and the Pioneers held on to win 10-8.
