OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers swept a 4-game series vs. Evangel on Thursday and Friday. In
Game 1,
Sean Maple got MNU on the board with a solo homer in the bottom of the 2nd. Evangel answered with a 2-run homer in the 3rd, but a
Brysen Hamilton 2-run single in the 4th put MNU back in front. The Valor took the lead again with 2 in the top of the 5th, but
Sean Maple's 2nd go-ahead homer of the game made it 5-4 Pioneers in the bottom of the inning. Four more runs scored to give MNU a 9-4 lead, and the Pioneers held on to win by that score.

Game 2, the Valor jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st, but starter
Tyler Frieders escaped further damage by escaping a bases-loaded 1-out situation. In the bottom of the 1st with 2 outs, Javier Meledez crushed a solo homer to get MNU on the board. And
Noah Castillo and
Dionathan Cornet followed with back-to-back doubles to get within 1. Evangel scored single runs in the 2nd and 3rd, but doubles from
Brycen Sherwood and Castillo led to 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. In the bottom of the 4th,
Joey Calamaio led off with a single and stole second.
Brysen Hamilton doubled him home, and a Sherwood sacrifice fly put MNU up by 1. Both teams scored 1 in the 5th, and Evangel tied it in the top of the 6th. In the bottom of the 7th with 1 out, 3 straight singles loaded the bases for
Sean Maple. Maple lofted a pop fly into shallow right field, and no one could get to it. MNU won 8-7.

Game 3,
Dionathan Cornet's clutch 2-out 2-run single gave MNU a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st, and a
Caleb Eiguren sacrifice fly made it 3-0 in the 2nd. Evangel fought back with a run in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th to tie it, and 1 more in the 5th to take a 4-3 lead. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th,
Noah Castillo's RBI single tied the game. The game remained tied at 4 into the 8th inning, and
Joshua Martinez took the 11th pitch of the at bat over the right field fence for a walk-off winner.
