Pioneers Swept on Senior Day

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers were swept in the final regular season double header on Saturday. In Game 1, Grand View scored 2 in the top of the 1st, but a 2-out 2-run homer from Kaleigh Bayless tied the game. The Vikings added single runs in the 2nd and 4th, but an Abby Schulte 2-run double in the bottom of the 4th tied the game again. Grand View blew the game open with a 6-run 5th, but the Pioneers kept fighting. An Alli VanLanker 2-run double in the bottom of the 5th cut into the deficit, and 2 more scored in the bottom of the 7th. But a flyout with 2 in scoring position ended the game.

Grand View's 6-run 5th put the game out of reach.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Grace Berlage struck out 3 in 2.1 innings of relief. And Morgan Fouch (2-4, 2 R, 2B), Kaleigh Bayless (3-4, 3 R, HR, 2 RBI), Alli VanLanker (1-1, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, 2 HBP), and Abby Schulte (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI) had big games at the plate.

In Game 2, Grand View scored multiple runs in all but the 2nd inning and ran away with a 13-0 victory.
