Pioneers Score 4, but Fall to Baker

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Pioneers managed to score multiple runs vs. the conference's best pitcher, but fell 11-4 at #7 Baker in the first round of the conference tournament on Thursday. In the bottom of the 1st, Baker loaded the bases with nobody out, but a 1-2-3 double play gave MNU a way out of the inning. A 3-run homer from Savannah Bray followed, however, and the Pioneers trailed 3-0. Another solo homer by Bray made it 4-0 in the 3rd, but a 2-run homer from Kaliegh Bayless cut the deficit in half in the top of the 4th. A 3-run triple in the bottom of the inning put the game out of reach, and another 3-run homer from Bray iced it in the bottom of the 6th.
