OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers swept a pair of tight games from Evangel on Wednesday. In
Game 1, Evangel scored 1 in the top of the 1st, but
Abby Schulte's 2-out 2-run double in the bottom of the inning gave MNU a 2-1 lead.
Grace Berlage shut down the Valor the rest of the way, and MNU held on to win 2-1.
Game 1 Turning Point

Grace Berlage struck out 5 in a complete game victory. And
Abby Schulte (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI) and
Chloe Smith (2-2) led the offense.
In
Game 2, neither team could get anything going, and the game remained scoreless into the 6th inning. Evangel managed a 2-out single with a runner on 2nd, but
Londin Fiorella cut down the runner at home and kept the game scoreless. In the top of the 10th inning, MNU escaped a 1st and 3rd 1-out situation, and went to the bottom of the 10th looking to end it. A sacrifice bunt put the winning run on 3rd with 1 out, and
Nyah Brown's bloop single to center ended the game.

Londin Fiorella's throw to the plate kept the game tied in the 6th.

Sarah Melodia struck out 2 in a 10-inning complete game victory. And
