OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers split a pair of tight games at Culver-Stockton on Friday. In
Game 1, MNU jumped on top with a run in the 1st, but the Wildcats rallied for 3 in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. The Pioneers got closer with a run in the 3rd, but neither team scored again and Culver took the first game.
Game 1 Turning Point
Culver's 3-run 1st inning was enough.
Game 1 Individual Leaders
Morgan Fouch (3-4, R) and
Londin Fiorella (3-3, RBI) each had 3 hits..
In
Game 2, MNU couldn't get a run across through 6 innings while Culver scored 1 in the 4th. In the top fo the 7th, MNU started their comeback.
Londin Fiorella led off with a double and advance to 3rd on a passed ball. After a walk,
Rilee Slycord's sacrifice fly tied the game.
Kaleigh Bayless singled. And one out later,
Nyah Brown singled home the go-ahead run and an error brought home Bayless for a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the 7th, Culver got 2 runners on base, but a groundout ended the threat and MNU salvaged a split.

Nyah Brown's go-ahead single in the 7th was the winner.

Hannah Etzel picked up the win with a 5-hit complete game. And
Cordelia Hanger (3-4, 2B, SB),
Nyah Brown (2-4, RBI), and
Londin Fiorella (2-3, R, 2B) had multi-hit games.
